CHARIKA'S RESCUE !

On June, 9th 2014, in a street of the old town in Tbilissi (Georgia), I met a dog whose left hind leg was severed.

This white puppy (3 or 4 month old), was skinny and had several mycosis spots on his body. His weakness and his handicap prevented him from standing. In a world where the law of the strongest reigns, this puppy hadn’t any chance to survive.

What to do? How to save him and bring him to France? Luckily, in Tbilissi there is an association: the Georgian Society for the Protection and Safety of Animals, the chairman of which, Teimuraz Tsikoridzé, quickly accepted to help me.

That’s how the operation: LET’S SAVE CHARIKA was born. This name has been given by a Georgian friend, Giorgi, who was my interpreter.

Charika has immediately been taken to the shelter with the promise of caring him and undertaking the steps for his coming in France. Of course, it will cost a lot of money (treatment, analysis, vaccinations…) and it will take time because of the sanitary and administrative constraints imposed by the European laws: Charika won’t be able to arrive in France before December if everything is OK.

The association “Adoptechien”, of which I’m one of the officials, launches a call for money donation to, firstly, pay the total amount of what the association in Tbilissi already has paid and will pay before Charika comes in France.

A first 150€ donation sent by credit transfer has been made.

Already we are looking for a host family. Charika who is 4 month old is the same size as a poodle. He will be tall, may be like a Swiss Sheppard.
